Wearing A Short Skirt ....For mature ladies

This post is about making the shorter skirt work for mtself who's a  more mature ladies

Lets get our pins out Ladies!.... and show then off!

YES that's right I am trying to encourage the over 50's to wear a shorter length of  skirt ,

Sayimng that I am not thinking of a micro mini or even a black tight fitting night type of clubing skirt.

For me it is this wool tweed skirt by Oui Tweed Straight Skirt.

A wool mix weave skirt in a traditional tweed for that English vibe, knee length and fitted and straight for a staple Winter skirt to give you that on trend chic to work with a sweater or silky blouse from work to play.

NEW SEASON AUTUMN/WINTER 2017

50% Acrylic, 25% Wool, 25% Polyester

Dry clean onlyLength 49cm.

As you can see I styled this skirt  it in several ways:-

(Above) with a black jacket, heels knee length boots, nearly black sheer tights.

(In The Left Photo) I am wearing  a White jumper , flat kenn high boots with nude PriMark gloss tights.

How would you style this skirt if it was your?

(On the Right) I have also added abrown leather jacket by Next and a pair of tan wedge shoes from New Look.

Have you any idas to how I could wear this skirt, it's become one of my favorites, may be as it's a winter skirt then  a pair of opaque tight would work well with it.

Persoanlly I love the tween design so it's going to be a warbrobe staple for a long while for me.

Do shorter skirts work for the more mature lady?
I say they can do 100%, what about you?

Styling an Autograph Leather Panelled Dress

Trying a leather dress - a fashion & style challenge for me.

I had always wanted to try wearing a leather dress because they are seen as been a stylish and bold fashion choice, offering a unique blend of durability and luxury
Leather is one of the oldest material used by humans, it is a versatile and durable material made from the hides and skins of animals.

Widely used in a  range of products today such as clothing, footwear, handbags, furniture, and sports equipment.
It's said that leather dresses are versatile and can be worn for various occasions, from casual outings to formal events.
They add an edgy and sophisticated touch to any outfit.

Persaonlly I did not want to try a black leather what is the most common colour available today and often used or associated  fashion subcultures, I wanted to try styling a different shade and create a different look.

This is my leather Panelled Dress by Autograph .

I found this Leather Panelled Dress sold in Marks & Spencer's under the Autograph brand for £350 , however I bought mine in a sale for £40.00 what a barging!

The question is- How do I style this dress?

Whilst  this look is an "Ok" it's just nothing special , you could even say it was even  a little boring, there is no "Zing" to it which a dress like this should have and deserves .

"I am simply too washed out"

The soulution is to add a pop of colour to it- so please watch this space...........

Ideas which have been suggested are;

  • "Dark blouse or Turtleneck with tights and bootsOr white blouse"

  • "A turquoise t shirt underneath would be nice and pick up the colour of the beads"

  • "I would wear a red or pink cross body bag and also red or pink shoes. I think you look great in it. Just needs that splash of colour.

  • "I am feeling a very 60s mod vibe. Turtleneck and Kneehigh boots or tights. A belt might work too"I am feeling a very 60s mod vibe. Turtleneck and Kneehigh boots or tights. A belt might work too"
