An Eliza Wyke Original Dress

This is a dress which Eliza Wyke designed for herself.

Eliza put these photo on her instagram page and I fell in love with the concept ot the  design, trying to imagine what a dress like this would be like to wear.

The description read:- "This little number was designed and created  for Christmas (2018)... worn on Christmas Day  Based on my classic shift (top/bodice) with an asymmetrical skirt and handkerchief tartan contrast. Bias cut sleeves and turn back plunge back with zip fastener"

Talking to Eliza she offered to make me the same dress which I was  to accept.

I did make one condition:- which stipulated that it had to be a exact copy of the original design, only altering it to fit my body shape,  thus keeping the integrity of Eliza original design.

This is the statement piece
which I thought it was going to be!

Superdrug 15 Denier Matt Tights - My hosiery review# 1

Over View:- These tights  are budget ones costing at the time of this  review £6.00 for a box of 5 pairs which = £1.20 per pair.

The online description is somewhat lacking " Superdrug 5 Pack 15 Denier Lycra Tights - Natural M/L"
The box also says" with Lycra fibre and moisturising finish.

My First impressions upon opening the box .

Is that these tights feel very soft and the
shade Natural which is much paler than some other brand, is that that today preferance for ladies? that is the question, although these tights are also available in black.
The tights are closely knitted and will give good leg coverage.
They come in a card board box with a very modern stylistic drawing   of a ladies pair of  weaing a simple skirt and heels.  with minimul information the back, a size chart which is helpfuland a little more text explaining about how to put them on along with some  care information , they are made in Poland  fomr 85% nylon and 15% lycra. At first glance these tights in my opinion are marketed at the young age group maybe first time wearers of sheer tights.

Putting them on....

This did not present any isses I rolled up the legs of the tights and slid the over my legs, there was enough material mesning that I did not have to pull or yank the legs up my legs thus I did not feel that I was risking a ladder and they felt strong.

The fit...

As I bought the XL  size due to my hight, I feel that these do have  enough material on the legs not to have any issues putting them on, if  you have voloumpius calfs then you might run into trouble with these tights as the sizing is linited to only three sizes S/M M/L and XL
They fitted well around my waist  with only a small amoint of rolling over which is often a problem in you have a slight tummy like I do.
The panty was not overly tight, there was no separetly fitted gusset  ( which is a cost saving on manufacturing) which is often foiund on   "Cheeper" tights.

What do they look like on.

Colour /Shade :-

The Natural shade  of these tights was a little too light inj my opinion and in my opinion more targeted to the "younger" age group who mich want not want to add any colour to their legs greating a more natural look.

Leg Coverage:-

As you can see been 20 denier they offer good leg coverage  everning out the tone of my legs and making them look a lot smother than they are.

Re-enforced Panty:-

One of the good feature with these tights is that the panty is slight re-enforced  not a boxer brief and not enough to be really  noticed, it is there and it will add a little more strength to the product when you are pulling them up.

Wearing A Short Skirt ....For mature ladies

This post is about making the shorter skirt work for mtself who's a  more mature ladies

Lets get our pins out Ladies!.... and show then off!

YES that's right I am trying to encourage the over 50's to wear a shorter length of  skirt ,

Sayimng that I am not thinking of a micro mini or even a black tight fitting night type of clubing skirt.

For me it is this wool tweed skirt by Oui Tweed Straight Skirt.

A wool mix weave skirt in a traditional tweed for that English vibe, knee length and fitted and straight for a staple Winter skirt to give you that on trend chic to work with a sweater or silky blouse from work to play.

NEW SEASON AUTUMN/WINTER 2017

50% Acrylic, 25% Wool, 25% Polyester

Dry clean onlyLength 49cm.

As you can see I styled this skirt  it in several ways:-

(Above) with a black jacket, heels knee length boots, nearly black sheer tights.

(In The Left Photo) I am wearing  a White jumper , flat kenn high boots with nude PriMark gloss tights.

How would you style this skirt if it was your?

(On the Right) I have also added abrown leather jacket by Next and a pair of tan wedge shoes from New Look.

Have you any idas to how I could wear this skirt, it's become one of my favorites, may be as it's a winter skirt then  a pair of opaque tight would work well with it.

Persoanlly I love the tween design so it's going to be a warbrobe staple for a long while for me.

Do shorter skirts work for the more mature lady?
I say they can do 100%, what about you?

Styling an Autograph Leather Panelled Dress

Trying a leather dress - a fashion & style challenge for me.

I had always wanted to try wearing a leather dress because they are seen as been a stylish and bold fashion choice, offering a unique blend of durability and luxury
Leather is one of the oldest material used by humans, it is a versatile and durable material made from the hides and skins of animals.

Widely used in a  range of products today such as clothing, footwear, handbags, furniture, and sports equipment.
It's said that leather dresses are versatile and can be worn for various occasions, from casual outings to formal events.
They add an edgy and sophisticated touch to any outfit.

Persaonlly I did not want to try a black leather what is the most common colour available today and often used or associated  fashion subcultures, I wanted to try styling a different shade and create a different look.

This is my leather Panelled Dress by Autograph .

I found this Leather Panelled Dress sold in Marks & Spencer's under the Autograph brand for £350 , however I bought mine in a sale for £40.00 what a barging!

Autograph Description.

Whether you're dressing up for a smart occasion or simply want to glam up your style,

The question is- How do I style this dress?

Whilst  this look is an "Ok" it's just nothing special , you could even say it was even  a little boring, there is no "Zing" to it which a dress like this should have and deserves .

"I am simply too washed out"

The soulution is to add a pop of colour to it- so please watch this space...........

Ideas which have been suggested are;

  • "Dark blouse or Turtleneck with tights and bootsOr white blouse"

  • "A turquoise t shirt underneath would be nice and pick up the colour of the beads"

  • "I would wear a red or pink cross body bag and also red or pink shoes. I think you look great in it. Just needs that splash of colour.

  • "I am feeling a very 60s mod vibe. Turtleneck and Kneehigh boots or tights. A belt might work too"I am feeling a very 60s mod vibe. Turtleneck and Kneehigh boots or tights. A belt might work too"
